Democracy in the future: resignation prohibited

People in government should be healthy and not criminals, you would think. In the future, however, you will only govern from prison or from a coma.

The year is 2061. A clever modus operandi has been found for the world’s governments. Only the most unsuitable heads of state are deliberately elected. “In the old days” (Shakespeare), that is, the 1920s of the 21st century, democracies were at least officially expected not to be led by insane people or criminals. Such a person could not govern a large country.

But that’s the wrong premise: they’re not supposed to run a big country, or even a small one. In any case, it’s much more convenient to leave the running to highly competent teams of experts who are already deeply immersed in the subject matter of their respective departments, and not just to a few idiots who studied business administration, finished the ‘jungle camp’ and finished the ‘jungle camp’ or won bronze in weightlifting. That always seemed pretty questionable anyway.

It is therefore better that these so-called heads of government in principle stay away from all kinds of decisions. This in turn seems more obvious depending on the mental or character state of the candidate in question.

Prison sentence or coma

This insight originally has its roots in the 2024 US election campaign between Trump and Biden. One is a serious criminal, the other shows age-related failures. Biden’s withdrawal broke this balance of unsuitability and led to Trump’s re-election. Since then, it has finally become clear that a prime minister, chancellor or president is most attractive when he is in prison or in a coma.

In 2029, the first AfD chancellor in Germany was completely paralyzed from the neck up and completely paralyzed from the neck down. The speech center was destroyed. Because he was still inexperienced with the new form of government, decisions were initially made based on the shape of his bowel movements. But fortunately these were only the birth pangs of an approach that later proved itself a thousand times over. Today, however, purists go even further. For them, only a dead head of state is a good head of state.

Otherwise he would be in jail. Because as long as a president is being severely arrested for selling alcohol from old toast to his fellow prisoners, it would be difficult for him to destroy NATO and sell Europe to the Russians. And even in normal prison conditions, it serves the quality of government if destructive decrees can only be signed during visiting hours.
