Ridley Scott’s Work Gladiator 2 will premiere in theaters on November 15. The sequel comes 24 years after the release of the original. The filmmaker appears to have moved on to a third installment of the franchise. In a recent interview, Ridley Scott revealed that he is developing an idea for Gladiator3“I’d rather play Gladiator III. I already have an idea,” he said in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter. Released in 2000, Slave Featured Russel Crowe, author as Maximus, who is demoted from Caesar’s favorite commander to a gladiator by his enemy, Commodus, played by Joaquin Phoenix. The film ends with a final showdown between the two characters, which results in both their deaths. Slave The film was a huge commercial success and received critical acclaim for its performances and storyline. It won five of its 11 Oscar nominations, and also won two Golden Globes and several BAFTAs that same year.
Set two decades after the events of the original film, Gladiator 2 will follow Lucius (Paul Mescal), Commodus’ nephew. He lives in Numidia, North Africa, where his mother, Lucila, sent him to protect him from the influence of the Roman Empire. Lucius is eventually taken to the same famous arena where he first witnessed the battle between Maximus and Commodus as a child.
