OneXPlayer has finally launched the price of the OneXGPU 2 eGPU equipped with an AMD Radeon RX 7800M GPU.

OneXPlayer Decides To Boost The eGPU Segment With The OneXGPU 2 Solution, Powered By AMD’s Radeon RX 7800M

The trend of external GPUs in the market has been on the rise in the past few months, especially after the entry of compact devices without decent graphics performance. It would not be wrong to say that OneXPlayer is one of the pioneers of the eGPU segment, and the first iteration of the OneXGPU series it is indeed a solid product.

However, now, the company has launched a next-gen variant featuring AMD’s upgraded Radeon RX 7800M GPU, based on the Navi 32 die. It’s not just performance improvements that are included, as the newer eGPU dock comes with additional connectivity and benefits.

Diving into the details Radeon RX 7800M graphics cardThe GPU chip comes with 60 Compute Units, which consist of 3840 stream processors in a chip that packs 28.1 Billion transistors. The TDP for the AMD Radeon RX 7800M GPU is rated at 180W and runs on 12GB of VRAM, and when compared to the original OneXGPU, which featured AMD’s Radeon RX 7600M XT, you get a massive increase in both CUs and onboard VRAM, which ensures much better performance.

Connecting the OneXGPU 2 to the OneXPlayer X1 handheld results in frame rate increases of 200% to 500%, according to data shared by the company, showing just how much of an impact the handheld’s performance can have when connected to the new eGPU dock.

The OneXGPU 2 Dock also features extensive port connectivity, such as an OCulink port with 64Gbps connectivity, USB 4.0, HDMI, and DP interfaces to enable smooth connection to external displays.

To add to the utility of the OneXGPU 2 eGPU dock, the company has offered a dedicated M.2 2280 SSD interface, which features a magnetic cover, so consumers can swap out storage devices in a snap. To complete the overall look, the dock also features RGB lighting that flows around the edge of the device, adding a unique touch to the overall product.

Interestingly, OneXPlayer has revealed that the eGPU dock is scheduled to be listed on Indiegogo on September 26th, and they have also revealed a potential pricing structure, with base specs starting at $899.
