By this point, it’s widely recognized as a universal truth: Arte Moreno is one of the most disliked owners in the game.

The man in charge of leading the Los Angeles Angels has been heavily criticized in recent seasons for some of his attitudes and decisions in front of the team.

His most obvious shortcoming has been failing to put together a strong, competitive team for years.

He managed to land a generational talent in Shohei Ohtani six years ago, and also employs Mike Trout and other top players.

Still, the Angels couldn’t even make the postseason with the Ohtani-Trout pairing.

They remain, together with the Detroit Tigers, the only squad in baseball not to make the playoffs since 2014.

That’s ten years already.

Fans, obviously, are fed up.

Angels insider Sam Blum noted a situation that took place in the team’s home stadium.

Spoiler alert: it involves Moreno, and it did not go well.

“Arte Moreno was booed loudly during the ‘Calling All Angels’ montage on opening night. The second home game of the season? He’d been removed from the video completely,” Blum tweeted.

We don’t know what’s worse, to have your own fans relentlessly boo you, or having to remove your name from the presentation because of that.

In any case, it’s another bad look for Moreno, and sadly he must be used to them by now.

As hard to believe as it might be, the Angels are 5-4 and in second place of the AL West division.

We will have to wait a few more weeks to see if they are legit, or if they will flame out as they have done these last few years.

Odds are against the Angels and Moreno, who couldn’t retain Ohtani or improve the team in other areas.
