Like the current away shirt, the new shirt is dark, but this time it has a rusty-looking pattern. The world-famous Bavaria statue on the Theresienwiese naturally served as a source of inspiration. The 18-meter-high statue was designed and cast from bronze between 1843 and 1850 by the Munich artist Ludwig Schwanthaler on behalf of Ludwig I and is one of Munich’s most famous landmarks. When illuminated in the dark, the image appears turquoise, which has been incorporated into the design of the new away shirts.
