HALL. Thuringian AfD leader Björn Höcke has been sentenced by the Halle court to a fine of 100 daily rates of 130 euros each. The judges considered it proven that Höcke used the banned SA slogan ‘Everything for Germany’ in a speech in May 2021.

This means that the politician would have a criminal record for “using the symbols of unconstitutional or terrorist organizations.” His lawyers had asked for an acquittal. However, the court did not follow their argument.

Höcke himself rejected the accusations. The exclamation he made has a long tradition and was used even before National Socialism. Little did he know that it was also the official battle cry of the SA. The verdict is not yet legally binding. (lb)
