Ajax forward Brian Brobbey would jump at the chance to join Man United this year amid interest from Erik ten Hag’s side, sources have told Football Insider.

United have been widely linked with a swoop for the 21-year-old, who has been in good form for the Dutch giants despite their struggles this term.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Ten Hag is a “big admirer” of Brobbey following their time together at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Furthermore, the young Netherlands international would be “very keen”, the source adds, to reunite with his old boss at Old Trafford – with a possible move to the Premier League believed to be a big draw for him.

Brobbey notched 13 goals and three assists in 32 appearances under Ten Hag while at Ajax.

He has been in top goalscoring form for the Dutch giants in the 2023-24 campaign so far.

The 21-year-old, who is under contract until June 2027, has managed 15 goals and four assists in 26 games across all competitions this term.

That form helped Brobbey make his first senior appearance for the Netherlands in October 2023 after representing his country at youth level.

Man United signed Rasmus Hojlund for a reported £72million last summer (2023) but he has managed just two Premier League strikes so far.

It is believed a new striker is high on the priority list for Ten Hag, Sir Jim Radcliffe and the United recruitment staff in coming windows.
