The Philadelphia Phillies are once again on the shortlist of teams that can win the World Series.
We have seen them make a deep run in the playoffs each of the last two seasons.
But, they fell short both times.
The Phillies are hoping 2024 is the year they break through.
But, for that to happen they must remain healthy.
One player who is already suffering some discomfort is first baseman Bryce Harper.
Harper has been experiencing some soreness in his lower back.
According to Todd Zolecki, Harper is not concerned and hopes to play in a spring training game on Friday.
Bryce Harper said he is not concerned about the soreness in his lower back. He just wants to be careful with Opening Day 10 days away. Harper said he hopes to play by Friday, whether it’s a Grapefruit League game or at the complex in Clearwater.

Having Harper in the lineup on Opening Day will be crucial.
The Phillies have a significant series to begin the year against the Atlanta Braves.
Harper has had plenty of success against the Braves in his career and that should continue in 2024.
Each of the last two postseasons, the Phillies have sent the Braves home.
This season will be the first of Harper’s career where he is a primary first baseman.
He played that spot last year after recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Now to limit how much he throws, the Phillies are moving him to first base full-time.
Ultimately, the Phillies pay Harper to be one of the best hitters in baseball.
He already has one MVP under his belt as a member of the Phillies.
There is no reason to believe he cannot win another.
The sky is the limit for a healthy Phillies team in 2024.
