Charlton Athletic is reportedly interested in securing a loan deal for Ipswich Town striker Freddie Ladapo during the January transfer window, according to sources. The League One club is prioritizing the acquisition of a new striker this month, with Ladapo being a top target. The 30-year-old has had limited playing time for Ipswich this season, as they push for promotion. Ipswich, on the other hand, is also in the market for a new forward, which could further decrease Ladapo’s chances of regular playing time. Ladapo has made 22 appearances for Ipswich this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist. However, he has only started in seven of those matches. Ladapo played a key role in Ipswich’s promotion to the Championship last season, scoring 17 goals in 46 League One games. He joined Ipswich in July 2022 from Rotherham on a free transfer and has a contract until June 2025. Ipswich is currently second in the Championship table and will face Sunderland next, while Charlton is 13th and will play against Peterborough.
