At one point, Chase Claypool was considered to be one of the most promising young wide receivers in the NFL, with some believing it was only a matter of time before he’d live up to his potential and become a bona fide star on the professional level.

Unfortunately for Claypool, he’s played in only four seasons in the NFL and has already played for three teams while now being a free agent looking for his next opportunity with no teams jumping at the chance to sign the Notre Dame product.

After longtime Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had enough of Claypool’s attitude, the team shipped him off to the Chicago Bears, where he was thought to be able to get a fresh start and potentially become a star in the Windy City.

It turned out to be more of the same in Chicago, resulting in Claypool getting traded again to the Miami Dolphins, who were hoping he’d add to an already talented receiving corps led by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but it also turned out to be a failed experiment.

Now, Claypool is hoping for one more chance in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks bringing him in for a visit, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

Despite his obvious talent, Claypool’s NFL career seems to be on fumes at the moment, as no one wants to bring in a wide receiver who will be a problem off the field while not living up to expectations on the field.

In his NFL career, Claypool has caught 175 passes for 2,261 yards and 13 touchdowns in 58 games.
