Lincoln police department said they were called to the Home Depot car park on Sunday afternoon around 2.30pm to find a man ramming into vehicles with a skid steer loader.
The rampage left a trail of destruction, with one man suffering minor injuries and several cars damaged.
When police arrived, the driver stopped his rampage to turn on them.
Shocking video of the attack shows the driver maneuvering the Bobcat’s shovel to window height before charging at the cop car.
He smashes into the vehicle from the side, pushing it several meters across the icy ground before coming to a halt.
He then retreats as if to make another attack, but the cop jumps out of the car and pulls a gun on him to force him to stop.
Officers said the driver also damaged the exterior of two businesses.

In another video the Bobcat driver can be seen terrorizing a white pick-up truck.
He chased the driver around the car park with his scooper raised threateningly in the air.
The truck drives away in a small circle with the digger in pursuit.
But the pick-up truck managed to evade him, escaping from the parking lot before he could get hit.
Another woman wasn’t so lucky, as she returned to her car to find it smashed to pieces.
Sharing footage of the attack online, she said: ‘Well, this just happened to my car. some guy on a Bobcat in Lincoln. It was intentional.’
In the video, the driver picks up her car by the back and lifts it up, before dumping it onto the bonnet of another SUV.
The car bounces a few times before scraping down the bonnet onto the floor while someone shouts ‘what the f***’.
He then reversed away, seemingly pleased with his handiwork.
One victim showed a video of her car dumped on top of another
The rear bumper had been smashed off by the Bobcat and the car was covered in scratches
The woman added: ‘Hunter had the car and they were inside eating and the guy just picked it up and dropped it on the other car, then took off.
‘Update: It sounds like they arrested the guy in the Home Depot parking lot. He damaged a bunch of vehicles there, as well as lifted part of a cop car off of the ground with an officer inside.
‘It eventually took about five officers to get him out of the skid loader.’
The videos had mixed reactions online, with one user seeing the funny side and commenting: ‘Just the average Home Depot experience.’
