There was a lot of excitement surrounding the Carolina Panthers heading into the 2023 NFL Season.

The organization had traded up for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, and after selecting Bryce Young, fans were excited about what this team could be.

However, Young’s first season didn’t exactly go as anticipated.

The Panthers finished the season with a 2-15 record, the worst in the league.

While this might indicate to some that Young wasn’t ready for the NFL, his coaching staff and teammates believe he is more than capable.

As Young’s new head coach, Dave Canales, recently told Tom Pelissero, “He’s wired for this.”

Canales hasn’t had much time with Young to this point, but he can already see some positive traits in his game.

With any luck, Canales can help Young develop into the player he wants to be, which should benefit the Panthers in the long run.

It will be interesting to see how Young attacks the 2024 season, especially seeing the offseason additions from his division rivals.

The Atlanta Falcons have added Kirk Cousins as their quarterback, and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers locking down Baker Mayfield, this could be a sign of changing tides in the division.

Gone are the days when the NFC South was one of the worst divisions in the league.

If Young can hack it in 2024, it will be a sign that he’s more than capable and ready for whatever the NFL might throw his way.

It doesn’t hurt that the Panthers have also added several depth pieces around him in the offseason.
