Bombay:

B-town is a fascinating place to be. While the avenues of glamour and blockbuster success often paint a wonderful picture, there are certain corners that are full of conflict, clashing egos or insecurities.

An example of this has come to light: actor Rajkummar Rao, who achieved huge success with his film “Stree 2”, reportedly turned down playback singer Adnan Sami’s voice for a song picturised on him.

The disagreement arose between the singer and the actor, with the actor allegedly insisting on replacing him as the playback singer due to the incongruity between Adnan Sami’s vocal expressions and his dubbing.

According to a source close to the project, Adnan Sami was approached by record label T-Series Music and music director duo Sachin-Jigar to lend his voice to a romantic song after a gap of nine years. However, Rajkumar Rao, who had already shot the visuals for the song and dubbed an earlier version using the voice of a scratch singer, expressed his reservations.

Despite the team’s assurance, the actor reportedly put his foot down, demanding a change in the playback singer. At that time, it had already been announced by the musical duo and the record label Music that Adnan Sami had sung the song and hence it was covered by the media with great enthusiasm.

This unexpected turn of events left the record label and music directors surprised. Inside sources reveal that Adnan Sami’s version was widely admired by everyone.

Rajkummar Rao has not yet commented on the matter and has presented his side of the story.

The controversy raises questions about artistic collaborations in Bollywood.

Earlier, Raj was also involved in the controversy over the credit war regarding ‘Stree 2’, which emerged as a box office hit that saved Bollywood from troubled waters.

Meanwhile, Raj will be next seen in the film ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ alongside ‘Animal’ star Triptii Dimri.
