However, their main focus was not on Roma manager Jose Mourinho, but rather on highly-rated defender Giorgio Scalvini. Scalvini, who made his 21st appearance of the season in the match, has been a target for United for over a year. Reports suggest that United’s interest in the 20-year-old centre-back is advanced, and they are ready to activate his £44 million release clause.
