Tom Brady is just a rookie and could become a member of the Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
But the former New England Patriots player’s first impressions in the NFL announcer’s booth were not good.
“So much awkward silence from Tom Brady during the first quarter of his broadcast,” tweeted one fan.
“This is the guy who won (seven) Super Bowls,” a second fan posted. “Tom Brady needs to do more play breakdowns before the snap. I want Tom Brady to call the play like he’s QB.”
“Why is Tom Brady in trouble?” wrote a third fan.
“Where’s the insight, Tom Brady?” said a fourth fan. “Notably absent.”
Brady made his debut as a game announcer for the Dallas Cowboys node Cleveland Browns in Week 1 on Sunday.
Hours before Brady became an NFL TV rookie, Jerry Jones gave Dak Prescott a record $240 million contract that has an average annual value of $60 million.
“Me too,” Brady said, backing the Cowboys, making Prescott the league’s highest-paid QB by AAV.
“Don’t let me down,” Brady said later after an attempted fisticuffs exchange with FOX rules analyst Mike Pereira went on for too long on live national TV.
THE seven times Super Bowl Pro Football Hall of Fame winner and lock will be paid US$ 375 million by FOX to narrate football games, despite having no previous NFL experience in the cabin.
Brady is also in on the verge of being a co-owner of Las Vegas Raiderswho are valued at $6.7 billion by Forbes and are one of the league’s most legendary franchises.
ESPN reported that if Brady’s purchase of a share of the Raiders is approved, he would be under severe restrictions on his association with 31 other NFL teams.
What’s clear is that the seven-time Super Bowl winner faces incredibly high expectations — from himself and from his fans — as he takes on a new job in the public eye.
“For me, it’s about, ‘Did I put everything I could into this? Did I give the fans everything they expected?'” Brady said. Colin Cowherd.
“That’s how I’m really going to end up judging myself, and I’m going to have to look at myself at the end of every Sunday night and ask myself, ‘Did I do a good enough job? Did I live up to the belief that Fox had in me? Did I live up to the expectations of my teammates?’ … That’s how I’m ultimately going to judge myself in this new role.”
