The 2024 Major League Baseball season is underway, and the new baseball season always seems to symbolize the start of spring and the eternal optimism that Americans hold dear to their hearts.

The Kansas City Royals, in all likelihood, will not win the World Series this year, and they may not even make the playoffs, but their fans got a treat on Friday when the team hosted the Minnesota Twins.

Andy Reid, the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, made his way onto the diamond with the Vince Lombardi Trophy in hand, and he threw a beautiful first pitch to former Royals star George Brett, per Dov Kleiman.

Fans on Twitter seemed impressed with Reid’s first pitch.

Reid is now the proud owner of three Vince Lombardi Trophies, all of which were won in the last five seasons, and he and his crew will be back next season to go for an unprecedented Super Bowl threepeat.

The Chiefs earned their third Super Bowl championship last month with a thrilling overtime win over the favored San Francisco 49ers after overcoming a 10-point deficit in the first half.

Patrick Mahomes and company also won the first of their three world titles versus the 49ers during the 2019 season when they came back from another 10-point deficit.

The one weakness Kansas City may have right now is at wide receiver, as they had to make do with a young makeshift crew in 2023, and they could use a proven veteran there.

With L’Jarius Sneed now a member of the Tennessee Titans, another reliable cornerback would also bolster their chances of winning it all again.
