Long before he even made it to the NBA, Trae Young was a polarizing player.
Some compared him to Stephen Curry and thought he was going to take the league by storm, while others were never a fan of his game.
It’s been six years since he entered the league, and not much has changed.
Some think Young is a star player and rave about his numbers, while others point out his inefficiency, turnovers, and lack of defense.
Notably, it seems like even the Atlanta Hawks feel this way right now, as a report by Kurt Helin of Basketball Talk (Via NBA Central) reveals that they’re likely going to move him in the offseason.
Around the NBA, there is an expectation that the Hawks will trade Trae Young this summer, per @basketballtalk
“They are going to try hard to trade Trae Young. That’s going to happen.”

Needless to say, that led to countless reactions, both good and bad, on social media.

Young is talented enough to be an impactful player on a championship-caliber team, but perhaps he’s not cut out to be their primary scorer; that’s valid.
Then again, there have also been several doubts about his character and temper, and some reports state that he’s never actually been close to his teammates and that his attitude has worn thin within the organization.
He’s a Klutch Sports client and the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly kept tabs on him for years now, so they should be an obvious potential destination for him.
Should he be moved, he’d need to take a big step forward and prove the Hawks made a mistake by giving up on him.
Otherwise, the narrative around him isn’t going to be that flattering.
