Feyenoord Reportedly Interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Thomas Meunier

Feyenoord, the current Dutch Champions, are reportedly showing serious interest in Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier, according to 1908.NL. Talks have already been initiated between Feyenoord and Dortmund, although no official offer has been submitted yet.

Meunier has seen a decline in his playing time at Dortmund in recent seasons. This year, the 32-year-old has only made four appearances in the Bundesliga, with injuries contributing to his limited game time. Despite this, Meunier has had an impressive career, winning multiple titles with Paris Saint-Germain and Club Brugge.

The main question surrounding Meunier’s potential move to Feyenoord is the financial aspect. During his time at PSG, he was valued at €35m, but that estimation has dropped to around €3m after four years. With his current contract expiring this summer, Feyenoord may choose to wait until then to make a move.

Meunier’s experience would undoubtedly benefit Feyenoord, who have struggled to replicate their remarkable title charge from last season. Currently sitting in second place in the Eredivisie table, Feyenoord is 10 points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven and will need to make up ground to challenge for the title.
