The windows of the apartment were already visibly fogged with smoke and soot and several smoke detectors could be heard in the apartment. Equipped with respiratory protection, the emergency services extinguished the fire, which quickly spread to the kitchen. The windows of the apartment were then opened to remove the smoke, so that the smoke could not escape into the stairwell of the apartment building.
No danger to local residents
After parts of the furniture were removed, emergency services were able to remove the last embers. Adjacent apartments were checked again for smoke development. However, there was no further danger to the residents of the house. The Henstedt-Ulzburg fire brigade was on site with almost 25 emergency services.
