After his last match as Hertha coach, Pal Dardai responded with a joke when asked about his future role with Berlin’s second division football team. ‘We’re going to make a museum. I will show the guests everything. I get paid well for that,” said the 48-year-old after the 1:2 at the end of the season VfL Osnabruck on Sunday.
A day earlier, the Berlin club had announced that the club icon’s expiring coaching contract would not be extended, but that Dardai would continue to work at the club in a previously unknown role. Even those who have the coaching job at the Hertha will take over is not yet known. The Berliners finished the season ninth in the table after being relegated from the Bundesliga. The campaign should be successful next year.
