The 2024 NFL Draft is quickly approaching and it’s becoming a bit easier to project which direction some teams are leaning in after free agency.

For example, there’s no doubt that the Chicago Bears will be taking USC’s Caleb Williams first overall after the team decided to trade away Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The offensive talent in the draft is the best it’s been in years because the quarterbacks and wide receivers are both special in their own right.

However, there are also numerous offensive tackles brimming with potential who could be stalwarts at the professional level.

One offensive tackle to watch out for is Notre Dame’s Joe Alt, who many consider to be the best in his position group.

However, not everyone shares that opinion, as Mike Martz has a few issues about Alt’s ability at the NFL level, via uSTADIUM.

Former HC Mike Martz of @The33rdTeamFB has serious concerns about OT Prospect Joe Alt. Specifically his base and strength, and why it should cause some teams to question him going in the Top 10,” they tweeted.

Alt is a former tight end who picked up tackle a few years ago and has shown a lot of promise in pass protection and the run game.

However, Martz has questions about Alt’s lack of flexibility and ability to stay upright against stronger pass rushers.

Every prospect has their flaws and shortcomings and while it might come off as nitpicking, there are definitely a few areas that Alt can improve on between now and his rookie season with whoever is lucky enough to draft him.
