Fulham fans can breathe a sigh of relief as it seems João Palhinha will not be leaving the club in the January transfer window. According to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, the player and his staff have been informed that a transfer is not on the cards this month, despite interest from Bayern Munich.
Plettenberg describes Palhinha as having a great character and mentality, and says the midfielder is fully focused on his season with Fulham. However, he is reportedly disappointed as joining Bayern Munich has been his biggest dream, both last summer and now.
Given the complexity of such a big transfer, it is not surprising that it won’t happen in the winter market. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Bayern Munich renew their interest in Palhinha at the end of the season.
After a summer of uncertainty, Palhinha recently signed a contract extension with Fulham, committing to the club until 2028 with an option for an additional year.
