Hugh Grant and Timothée Chalamet have been inseparable in recent weeks as the pair promote their latest film, Wonka, together.

However the British actor has now revealed what it was really like working with the young American hearthrob in his most recent interview on Jimmy Fallon.

In a spoof segment of the show, the 63-year-old confessed he actually didn’t like working with the 27-year-old and mocked his tendency to always bring up the fact he is half French.

As the interview between host Jimmy and Hugh drew to a close, Jimmy admitted: ‘I’ve run kind of out of questions, does anyone in the audience have a question for Hugh Grant?’

The camera then panned to Timothée posing as a member of the audience, as he exclaimed: ‘Here please.’

Hugh Grant, 63, told Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday what he REALLY thinks of Timothée Chalamet, 27, after working with him in latest Wonka film

Disguised in a stick on moustache and red Love Actually baseball cap, he gushed at Hugh: ‘Big fan, happy to see you.’

As the crowd screamed, Jimmy joked: ‘People really like this audience member’.

He then proceeded to ask: ‘You’ve worked with some incredible actors throughout your career. I mean some really incredible actors.

‘I was just curious where does Timothée Chalamet rank on that list?’

To which Hugh confessed: ‘Well, I’m assuming this isn’t part of the show that’s going to be broadcast so I’ll tell you the truth.

‘To be honest, I didn’t like him. None of us did. I don’t know what it is. There’s something just weird about that whole French “Timothée Chalamet”‘

Timothée is bilingual in French and English and holds dual United States and French citizenship due to his French father, Marc.

Putting on a stereotypical French accent, Hugh continued: ‘Je suis Francais, Do you like me?’

As the audience screamed with laughter, Timothée nodded in agreement: ‘For sure, for sure, for sure’.

Fans of the South Korean pop group are known as Blink’s, and the actor has been converted to a self-confessed Blink.

‘Are you a blink?’ asked Jimmy.

‘Now I am yes, I have a daughter who dragged me to this thing. It’s not automatically a grumpy 63-year old Englishman’s cup of tea but it was a huge concert in Hyde Park in London and she took me along and it was fascinating.

‘She’s a very good girl. She’s a very good girl at school and at home and she’s marvellous but she turned into a raving nutcase, suddenly she’s got this hammer in her hand and she’s going crazy like this [imitates smashing a hammer in the air].

‘It was like a possessed child from The Exorcist. But after an hour I’m so into it.’
