Arsenal take a break from their Premier League commitments in midweek as they host French side Lens in the Champions League.

The Gunners could take a big step towards a place in the knockout rounds for the first time since 2017 with victory on Wednesday evening. While they will be keen to focus on their European assignment, all is also going well on the Premier League front as Mikel Arteta ’s men top the table.

With all of that being said, take a look at all of the news to come out of the Emirates Stadium over the past 24 hours…

Wright’s “robbed” claim

Ian Wright believes that Arsenal “robbed” West Ham for the services of Declan Rice despite paying a club record £100m for the midfielder. Speaking about the England star’s early displays for the Gunners, he said: “I’m not being biased or anything, but I was speaking to a couple of West Ham fans recently, and I wind them up all the time.

“I said, ‘Do you know something, I feel like we robbed you, I feel like we should give you an extra £20m. I’m going to give you an extra £20m because it’s making me feel guilty that we’ve only got him for £100m!’”

Rice has made 19 appearances for Arsenal since his summer switch from West Ham, with two goals and as many assists to his name.

The new kit draws on the spirit of The Invincibles team of 2003/04, marking the beginning of the 20th anniversary of Arsenal’s unbeaten Premier League season. The crest and Adidas’ logo and three stripes down each sleeve feature in gold, and the record of 26 wins and 12 draws over 38 games in that historic season is stitched into the side of the authentic version of the kit.

Saka makes title admission

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has suggested that his side are yet to hit top gear in the title race. The Gunners currently hold a one-point advantage over reigning champions and former title rivals Manchester City.

“Each game is different but we know that we can be a lot better,” he admitted. “We’re especially working on breaking teams down, but we’re still getting really good results and we’re top of the league. So we can be really happy.”

Saka also suggested that his side have not been able to enjoy the fortune of having a fully fit squad, and that they could perform even better when they have all their key players back.

Neville makes title prediction

Away from Saka’s defiant warning, former Manchester United star Gary Neville has claimed that Arsenal can win the league this season. He said: “In my opinion, this team is far more likely to win the league than last year’s.

“They weren’t capable of playing below par last year and amassing these points. City were less attractive to watch last year than in previous years but won the treble. I see this with Arsenal this year in regards to the league.”
