The 2023-24 NBA regular season has been pretty up and down for the Houston Rockets, with the new-look roster exceeding expectations earlier in the year only to fall back down to earth and nearly out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference entirely.

One of the main reasons for the team’s success this season has been the emergence of center Alperen Sengun as a legitimate star on the rise in this league, as he has proven to be the new face of the franchise in Houston.

Along with Sengun’s rise to stardom in the NBA, the Rockets have benefited from Ime Udoka being the team’s new head coach, as he has brought the kind of leadership and structure to Houston that the team has so desperately needed with such a young squad.

Unfortunately for Sengun, it appears his season will be cut short after he suffered multiple injuries the other night due to a nasty fall while on the court.

Even though it looks like Sengun’s season is over, unless the Rockets make the Play-In Tournament and/or NBA playoffs, he avoided a major injury, according to insider Shams Charania.

The 2023-24 campaign has turned out to be a breakout year for Sengun, as he is averaging career-high numbers across the board while becoming one of the best big men in the NBA and a household name in Houston.

In the 63 games he played for the Rockets, Sengun averaged 21.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 53.7% from the floor.
