Apple doesn’t like to announce exact battery capacities for its iPhones, so we always have to rely on other sources to get them — regulatory agency certifications, teardowns, that sort of thing. The same has been true for the recently announced iPhone 16 Familybut now we finally have the exact numbers, courtesy of Brazilian regulator Anatel.
So, the iPhone 16 has a 3,561 mAh battery, an increase of 6.3% compared to your predecessor‘only iPhone 16 Plus has a 4,674 mAh battery, an increase of 6.6%. The iPhone 16 Pro gets a 3,582 mAh battery, a 9.4% increase over the iPhone 15 Pro‘s, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 4,685 mAh cell, a 5.5% increase over the iPhone 15 Pro Max‘s.
So there’s a clear winner in terms of boost compared to last year’s models, and that’s the iPhone 16 Pro. But that doesn’t mean the other devices don’t have pretty good battery life – thanks to the A18 and A18 Pro chips thermal and performance improvements in the internal design, both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have significantly better battery life than their predecessors, despite the small (and different) increases in battery capacity.
Additionally, all iPhone 16 models are compatible with 25W MagSafe faster chargingAs long as you buy one of Apple’s new MagSafe chargers to benefit from it. You’ll also need to connect it to a 30W power adapter. The new devices can also charge at up to 45W over USB-C.
The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max will become available today all over the world.
