As the start of the 2024 NFL Draft draws near, the talented young quarterbacks in this draft class have been put under a microscope and analyzed nonstop, with every quarterback-needy team in the league doing their due diligence before taking a chance on a potential leader under center.

This year will be another draft that is dominated by the quarterback position to start things off, with the Chicago Bears (No. 1), Washington Commanders (No. 2), and New England Patriots (No. 3) all expected to draft potential franchise players at the position.

As of right now, Caleb Williams, out of the University of Southern California, will likely be the top pick in the draft, with the Chicago Bears almost certainly bringing him in at No. 1 overall.

Then things get interesting with the Commanders seemingly not set on who they’ll draft at No. 2, as it could be Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, or possibly even J.J. McCarthy.

Although it is up in the air who will go No. 2, McCarthy is making a lot of noise while saying all the right things, which has impressed teams over the last few weeks.

“I just try to embrace every single day of it,” McCarthy said about the current process.

If the Commanders don’t take McCarthy at No. 2, the Patriots might not let him get by them at No. 3, as New England is also desperate to bring in a new franchise player at the quarterback position.

Other teams that could take a chance on McCarthy include the Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, and New York Giants, who may have to trade up in order to bring him in.
