The New York Jets are going into this offseason hoping for much better luck than their 2023 NFL season which originally had so much hope and promise.

New York was one of the buzz teams last offseason because of their blockbuster trade to land Aaron Rodgers, signaling the franchise’s commitment to winning a Super Bowl.

The hype around the Jets was palpable and the anticipation only continued to grow through last summer after the team was featured on HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”

However, Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles that derailed New York’s season and had them end the regular season on a low note.

The 2024 campaign should be different as Rodgers is on track to start Week 1, while the defense remains stout.

Star cornerback Sauce Gardner will play a huge role in the team’s resurgence, but in the meantime he is spending his offseason watching his alma mater Cincinnati participate in spring games alongside another Bearcat great in Jason Kelce via Mike Petraglia of CLNS Media.

“A pair of former UC greats taking on Spring Game. Sauce Gardner and just-retired Jason Kelce.” Petraglia reported.

Spring games are a great opportunity for teams to get some reps in before the collegiate season begins, and Gardner and Kelce are in attendance to support their old program.

Both were stalwarts during their time at Cincinnati and it’s good to see them back at their old stomping grounds.

Kelce of course won’t be suiting up for the Philadelphia Eagles next season after he retired, but Gardner’s NFL career has just taken off and it’ll be interesting to see how he fares in 2024.
