Vanities, established customs and political careers must give way to prevent Trump. For US President Biden, this can only mean: he will not run.
In a perverse way, powerful forces within the American Democrats secretly hoped for the inevitable at the beginning of this year: a presidential candidate Donald Trump. They admitted that this was the only candidate against whom the incumbent President Joe Biden could win.
But Biden, as an anti-Trump, has so far motivated few skeptical Americans to vote for him in November. Since the disastrous debate, however, it has become clear: Biden is far too weak an antidote to the poison that is Donald Trump.
The most reactionary forces in the country are currently preparing to return the country to the socio-political level of development of the founding fathers, in the shadow of a Trump presidency. The one who has always been conservative Heritage Foundation has transformed itself into a Christian fundamentalist nationalist planning staff and has written a blueprint for the fundamental restructuring of the US with ‘Project 2025’. This alliance Trump’s MAGA (Make America Great Again) Movement and the political thinkers of another century can acquire executive power in November.
It wouldn’t help much if the Democrats became the strongest force in Congress. There’s no better conspiracy theory. The central question, the only question that Joe Biden and potential alternatives—Vice President Kamela Harris, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Wes Moore and others—must ask themselves in this light is: Who has the chance to protect the United States? Of one, to preserve the reactionary tyranny?
Kennedy’s punishment applies
On Wednesday, Biden spoke to a group of Democratic governors. He needs your support – apparently he got it. But there has been discussion about alternatives for some time. Because how That’s what American pollster guru Nate Silver said in the newspaper on Thursday New York Times writes: “Doing nothing about Biden is the riskiest plan of all.” Nothing is riskier than letting Biden run.
Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country. The famous quote from the inaugural speech of the Democratic American President Kennedy in 1961 has never been more important than in these days and weeks. Everyone, every force in the US that determines the Democratic presidential candidate in the November elections, must answer this one question. Vanity, political careers, ideological factions or established customs, all must give way. Above all and first of all, American President Joe Biden must face this question. The answer can only be: I am not running.
