The Green Bay Packers always had a plan for the future.

It didn’t seem right at first, but time is proving they were right all along.

Everybody was shocked when they took Jordan Love in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Not only did most analysts and fans think they would use that pick to get Aaron Rodgers a new weapon, but no one saw them actually taking his replacement, let alone in the first round.

That was when Rodgers’ relationship with the team got complicated, and it took a while before people realized that Love was the right guy to carry the torch.

Recently, the talented quarterback looked back on draft night.

Talking to Ryan Clark, he admitted that he knew he wasn’t going to start for a while because of Rodgers, but he was still excited about the opportunity to learn from one of the best to ever do it.

“Definitely right away knew… I wasn’t coming in to start,” Love said.

The Packers were quite patient with their first-rounder.

They didn’t throw him into the fire right away, putting him on the sidelines to pick Rodgers’ brain.

Not many people were high on him, and not many analysts thought the Packers would make the playoffs in the first year of the post-Rodgers era.

However, he proved that he was as good as the front office advertised.

He embraced a leadership role, earning praise and respect from his teammates, and put the team on his shoulders to lead them to the NFC Divisional Round.

Props to the Packers for having a plan and sticking to it.
