José Mourinho is reportedly contemplating his future as the manager of Roma, according to Foot Mercato. With his contract set to end in June 2024 and no ongoing negotiations, it appears likely that he will depart from the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma has faced difficulties in Serie A this season, currently sitting in 8th place. These struggles have led both Mourinho and the club to consider their partnership. The departure of Tiago Pinto, with whom Mourinho had a positive working relationship, has also influenced his decision.
Mourinho has been linked to the vacant Brazil national team job after Carlo Ancelotti extended his contract with Real Madrid. Additionally, there is interest from Saudi Arabia.
Foot Mercato reports that Roma is already considering potential replacements for Mourinho when his contract expires. Raffaele Palladino, Gian Piero Gasperini, and Ivan Juric are all admired within Italy and have contracts expiring at the same time as Mourinho. More ambitious targets such as former Marseille manager Igor Tudor and former Tottenham boss Antonio Conte are also appreciated.
