After parting ways with head coach Brandon Staley and replacing him with Jim Harbaugh once the NFL offseason got underway, the Los Angeles Chargers had a lot of work to do with a roster that had some serious salary cap issues.

A lot of changes had to be made to get things back on track in Los Angeles, with the team parting ways with several notable players and restructuring the contracts of some of their stars, like Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa.

Along with keeping Mack and Bosa in Los Angeles, the Chargers let running back Austin Ekeler walk in NFL free agency while releasing wide receiver Mike Williams and trading veteran wideout Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears.

With Allen on the move for the first time in his NFL career, the six-time Pro Bowler reacted to a post on Twitter from his former Chargers teammate Gerald Everett, whom he’ll be reuniting with in Chicago.

“You know the vibes Brodie,” Allen tweeted.

Allen spent 11 seasons with the Chargers and was expected to be a salary-cap casualty if he didn’t restructure his deal like Mack and Bosa did with the team recently.

After more than a decade with one team, it’ll be interesting to see how Allen adapts to his new surroundings in Chicago, as he’ll likely be playing with former USC superstar quarterback Caleb Williams, who is expected to be taken No. 1 overall in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft by the Bears.

Only time will tell how this new partnership will work, but Williams will get a veteran weapon that could quickly become his favorite target in the passing game.
