Lenovo may have hinted at the launch of a new Legion Go portableaccording to information that appeared on the company’s website.
Lenovo’s upcoming Legion Go laptop could be compact, offering a smaller screen and improved cooling performance
Lenovo’s Legion Go handheld made a formidable entry into the market by capitalizing on the hype surrounding AMD’s Ryzen Z1 APUs at the time, which made the device a decent alternative to mainstream options like ASUS ROG Ally X. However, we haven’t gotten any developments from the company around the Legion Go’s successor, but Lenovo has stated that they have plans to launch new modelspreferably “compact and lightweight designs”.
New information in Lenovo’s Legion Go laptop description shows the company is working on a new device, probably a “reduced” version from the original model. The Legion Go’s description on Lenovo’s official website describes the laptop as having a “7-inch or 8-inch” display, while for now, the Legion Go itself comes with an 8.8-inch display, suggesting that a smaller model may be in the works. Additionally, the description also claims that the device has an integrated HDMI port, along with a dual-fan cooling system, but such features are not available on the current model.
Since the device’s description was recently updated, this could indicate that we could see a “smaller and more capable” model being released to the market. In terms of specifications, we don’t have a clear idea for now, but judging by the fact that Lenovo plans to sell the upcoming laptop as a “configuration” of the original Legion Go, the onboard components could be similar, especially in terms of the processor.
The handheld markets have seen a bit of a decline, mainly because they are waiting for newer architectures to enter the industry. We have already seen MSI integrating Intel’s Lunar Lake SoC in its “Claw” notebook, and we anticipate that manufacturers will also use AMD’s new Strix Point APUs, which will make the markets more competitive. For Lenovo, the company may introduce several products, but that is not certain for now.
