Even though they fell apart in epic fashion in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, the Dallas Cowboys have been conspicuously quiet in free agency so far.
They did nab linebacker Eric Kendricks, but other than that, they have done next to nothing, even after losing starting running back Tony Pollard and missing out on star RB Saquon Barkley, who went to the Philadelphia Eagles.
But former star running back LeSean McCoy said on FS1’s “Speak” that Cowboys fans shouldn’t be disappointed at how quiet the team has been, especially given the immense talent it already has.
Instead, he said fans should be concerned about the “real” issue: Dak Prescott.

Prescott has been a very good quarterback since coming into the NFL, and in 2023 he threw for 4,516 yards and an NFL-high 36 touchdowns while being named to the Pro Bowl for the third time.
But for whatever reason, he always seems to underperform in big games, especially in the playoffs.
This past season, he threw two early interceptions in the Wild Card round versus the Green Bay Packers, which led to Dallas falling behind 27-0 late in the second quarter, and while he threw three touchdown passes, two of them came in garbage time with the outcome long ago decided.
In the previous two seasons, he played poorly in playoff losses to the San Francisco 49ers, and in Week 5 of the 2023 campaign, he threw three picks in a horrific 42-10 loss to the Niners.
Prescott is entering the final year of his contract, and there has been plenty of speculation regarding a possible extension or even if he will get an extension to begin with.
If he fails yet again in the playoffs next winter, an argument could be made that it would be time for the once-proud franchise to move on from him.
