Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique believes that Dominic Solanke would be starting as the club’s striker ahead of Darwin Nunez if he had stayed. Solanke joined Liverpool in 2017 but struggled to make an impact and was eventually sold to Bournemouth. After helping Bournemouth return to the Premier League, Solanke has been in great form this season, scoring 12 goals in 19 appearances. Enrique believes that Solanke’s performances warrant a place in Liverpool’s starting lineup alongside Mohamed Salah. Liverpool’s front three has evolved in recent seasons with the additions of Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo, but Solanke’s form has impressed Enrique.
