This South London The district has been named the ‘most luxurious’ place in Britain, where locals live amongst celebrities and royalty. There’s even a corner shop where you can casually buy a bottle of wine for over £4,000.
The newly developed luxury shopping centre and apartment complex at Battersea Power Station welcomed its first 100 residents in 2017, following a £9 billion investment.
Many celebrities have been seen hanging around the area, including Bear GryllsSting, and even some The Royal FamilyFormer SAS trooper Bear Grylls has reportedly knocked down three properties to build a £20 million mega-apartment.
The average house price in the area is a staggering £1.2 million, but the rooftop villa at Battersea Power Station beats it by almost eight times.
There’s even a very luxurious flat that comes with a staff bedroom and office. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment is on the market for £31 million and offers 360-degree views of the city and river in London.
Kasea, who worked at the power plant, told the Sun he worked for some of the world’s richest people, but did not divulge further details.
He said: “I can’t tell you who I work for, but he’s someone quite famous, but there are a lot of famous people who live here, especially at the power station. I even see one of them every day. I also see Bear Grylls and Sting.
“I was lucky to work with people who were really on the front page, even the Queen’s family.”
He even spotted 50-year-old Bear Grylls working out on his roof. He said: “Yesterday he was doing pull-ups on the roof, which I could see very clearly.”
Last year The Mirror reported that TV chef Gordon Ramsay and his family had moved into a £12,000-a-month apartment on the complex while work got underway on their £7 million mansion in Wandsworth.
Battersea General Store is a convenience store inside a power station, and manager Raj Bathia claims he sees famous people every day and has even served world leaders.
He told The Sun: “A lot of people come and visit us specifically. They’ve heard about us. We’ve seen them in the shop, we recently had the ruler of Dubai in the shop.”
However, this is far from your average corner store, as some of the items are luxury items. wine which is offered in stores for up to £4,250 per bottle.
Other luxury shops around Battersea Power Station include Rolex, Cartier, Mulberry and Searcy’s Champagne Bar.
