There is a strong possibility of reported Brentford target Sergio Reguilon leaving Tottenham on loan again in the January window, sources have told Football Insider.

Reguilon, 27, returned to Spurs earlier this month after his temporary spell at Man United was cut short.

Fellow London club Brentford have been widely linked with a potential swoop for the left-back amid key injuries in Thomas Frank’s squad.

It is believed Tottenham would be willing to sanction another loan spell for Reguilon in the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Lilywhites feel the Spaniard could put himself in the “shop window” by moving elsewhere.

Reguilon has not featured in any matchday squads since returning to Tottenham and cannot play for Ange Postecoglou’s side this term if he is to go out on loan again.

He made just 12 appearances for Man United in the first half of the season after being brought in as emergency backup for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

The Spain international spent the 2022-23 campaign out on loan at Atletico Madrid but made just 12 appearances with several injury problems limiting his involvement.

Reguilon is under contract at Spurs until June 2025 after joining the club from Real Madrid in 2020.

Brentford are keen to add a new left-back after injuries to Aaron Hickey and Rico Henry.

Brentford

Left-back Destiny Udogie has impressed for Tottenham as they sit fifth in the Premier League table this term.

Meanwhile, Brentford are 16th and just three points above the drop zone after losing their last five games.
