The weirdest fashion accessory is a decade-old GPU built into a carrying case priced at over $1,000, but there’s more.

Seller starts selling GPU bags and tries to sell them at absurd prices, labeling them as “luxury”

It’s not every day that we see these products appearing on the market, but in general, the GPU segment has been “quite” creative in the past when it comes to “do-it-yourself” instances.

Now, a company that goes by the name of GPU Scholarships apparently adopted a pretty “horrible” business model, which involves using full GPUs and creating a bag out of it, and since they can’t create a bag with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4090, the individuals used an old GeForce GT 730 GPU for the job, and at first glance, not only is the bag terrible, but the price tag on it seems to make the seller have an existential crisis.

The bag has a transparent casing to show off what’s inside, and interestingly, it has a dedicated cooling fan on the outside, which is probably just there as a display piece. The entire structure of the bag uses chains to make it carryable, and that’s the only part where we can associate the product with an actual bag. There’s little to no space inside, just enough to carry a phone, according to the seller, and the next part is even more surprising.

The GT 730 case is going for $1,024, which is about 50 times higher than the actual cost of the GPU. Maybe the seller only had gross margin in mind and didn’t think about whether anyone would buy it. In any case, we advise users to stay away from the trouble of buying such a case, as it serves no purpose and doesn’t look impressive at all. Maybe if some kind of creativity had been put into the product, it could have looked better.

This particular bag reminded me of Huawei’s Honor V Scholarship phone, except in this case, you don’t get any utility out of the product. GPU Purse has listed an NVIDIA H100 purse for $65,536, and once again, it’s either a scam or the seller is trying to find his way into the real world.
