Man United are ‘better off being owned by fans’ than Sir Jim Ratcliffe, experts have told Football Insider.

In an exclusive interview with Football Insider, f2o CEO Wolfgang Muller and social entrepreneur Stephen Bediako OBE claimed that the Red Devils would be better suited to a newly emerging fan-ownership model.

Ratcliffe is set to take sporting control at Old Trafford after agreeing an investment deal with the Glazers to buy an initial 25 percent stake in the club.

Changes behind the scenes have already started to take place with club CEO Richard Arnold leaving the club after spending 16 years at the club.

The proposed ‘f2o model’ allows fans to invest in their clubs, providing supporters with decision-making power in a democratic voting style.

“Today’s sports investments are monopolized by elites in the top one percent,” Bediako told Football Insider.

“Why entrust the club to a British billionaire when the fanbase could have their say on how the club operates.

“Fans are key stakeholders to football clubs and this ownership model puts them in charge of decisions.

“Ratcliffe’s takeover represents another billionaire taking charge of an elite football club, while fans once again miss out.”

F2O Sports recently launched their model at a Spanish club following their takeover.

CEO Wolfgang Muller explained how the change in ownership system would allow United fanswe to vote on changes at the club including infrastructure, transfers and squad decisions.

Our model allows fans to invest in the club and be rewarded with decision-making power,” said Muller.

Those decisions can scale from infrastructure investment into stadiums and academies, to transfers and maybe even picking the starting lineups.

“We want fans to be in control of their club and our ownership model allows that to happen.”
