For a company that reportedly “exited” the smartphone businessMeizu has certainly been releasing a lot of smartphones lately. Earlier today we talked about the new Note 21 series, which is even going internationallyand the company also unveiled another new device, apparently part of a new series.
The Meizu Lucky 08 smartphone is said to be arriving on September 25 as a “flagship AI phone” by the company. It will cost CNY 2,000, which now translates to around $280 or €255 – so it can’t be a true flagship at this price.
However, it does look intriguing, as you can see in the teaser video above. It appears to have two cameras on the back, housed in a very distinctive round camera island.
Meizu has launched a CNY 1 reservation service. If you pay this measly sum, you reserve your place in the purchasing queue for the phone when it launches, and you also get a chance to drive the Meizu x Lynk & Cia Z10 E-sports Custom Edition EV, plus exclusive trade-in subsidies.
No other details about Lucky 08 are known at this time, but keep in mind that 8 is the luckiest number in Chinese culture, so the name is quite appropriate.
