The Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears recently made one of the most surprising trades of the offseason.
Justin Fields was expected to leave the Bears with rumors that the team would take a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, but his landing spot was unknown.
The Bears ended up trading him to the Steelers, which wasn’t necessarily surprising on its own, but it was shocking because they had already signed Russell Wilson.
While some fans thought this was a strange move, Mel Kiper recently claimed it was anything but.
Kiper spoke about this at length on “Get Up,” calling this pairing “a match made in heaven.”

Fields’ career with the Bears might have been shorter than anticipated, but now that he is with the Steelers, his career could take off.
He might not necessarily get a chance to start this year, but he could learn a lot from Wilson and his new head coach, Mike Tomlin.
Tomlin is one of the most respected coaches in the league, and most players on his teams only speak highly of what he does for them and their NFL careers.
It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out and which of these two quarterbacks will get more playing time in 2024.
The Steelers still haven’t had a season with a record under .500 with Tomlin as their head coach, which means they’ll want to do anything possible to maintain that, even if it means switching starters halfway through the year.
