As of right now, with less than a week to go before the start of the 2024 NFL Draft, the consensus is that quarterbacks will be taken with the first three picks by the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, and New England Patriots.
The three players that are expected to be taken with the first three picks are Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels, with a debate taking place on who the Commanders will choose at No. 2 overall.
Williams is the best bet for No. 1 overall by the Bears, while it remains to be seen who the Commanders will bring in at No. 2, as it could be Maye or Daniels.
With so much trade speculation and uncertainty about Maye and Daniels, there’s no telling what may happen with the Commanders’ pick, but Mike Greenberg of ESPN believes that pick won’t be the reigning Heisman Trophy winner out of LSU, via ESPN Radio.
“I would bet that when push comes to shove, he is not going to be the second pick,” Greenberg said.

It’ll be interesting to see what direction Washington goes when the team is on the clock next Thursday, but one thing seems certain at this point in time: whoever the Commanders pick, the Patriots will almost certainly choose the other, whether it be Maye or Daniels.
At this point, it doesn’t seem like the Commanders can go wrong with either prospect, as they both have a chance to be franchise players and potential game-changers for the team they play for on the NFL level.
