The European Football Union UEFA has Albanian striker Mirlind Daku for two E.M-Games blocked. The 26-year-old carries his Misconduct after the Albanians’ match against Croatia on June 19 in Hamburg (2:2) “brought football into disrepute,” according to the UEFA statement. Daku is also accused of using sports to convey messages of a non-sports nature. After the match, Daku was seen with a megaphone in front of the Albanian fans and was accused of nationalist chants.

The Albanian association must also pay a fine of 25,000 euros “for spreading provocative messages that are inappropriate for a sporting event”, UEFA said. In addition, an additional 22,500 euros will be added for further violations. UEFA did not provide details of the violations when initiating the procedure.

In any case, Daku will be missing from his team for the last group match next Monday in Düsseldorf against Spain and in a possible
Round of 16. Parting Albania out, the ban applies to the next UEFA competition match.
