Current Serie A champions Napoli are in agreement regarding a move for Verona defender Marco Davide Faraoni.
The Partenopei have been linked with the possibility of landing a full-back this January and Salernitana’s Pasquale Mazzocchi has been touted as a possible signing.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have mirrored something similar to what Sky Italia have reported, stating that a move for Mazzocchi is proving to be complex right now as Salernitana want €4 million to sell the Italian. Napoli have only offered half that fee, meaning that the move is yet to progress. Salernitana have already rejected Napoli’s initial bid for the wing-back.
As a result, Napoli have looked at alternatives and a move for Faraoni has already been agreed in principle and depending on how things turn out on the Mazzocchi front, they would move for Faraoni. The arrival of a full-back would allow Alessandro Zanoli to join Genoa in January.
Last January, Napoli had signed Bartosz Bereszyński from Sampdoria and he went onto win the Serie A and the club could do something similar this season.
