Most hiring managers will tell prospective job seekers to be upfront and truthful during interviews, allowing the future employer to find any issues that could impact their decisions and address those with the candidate.
NFL prospect and former Texas defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat took that to the next level, according to The Athletic’s Dane Brugler.
Brugler shared a post on Twitter Sunday revealing Sweat admitted to NFL teams he had issues with “his ‘partying’ as an underclassman.”
According to a team source, Sweat has been up front with NFL teams about his “partying” as an underclassman. And made it a point of emphasis in interviews that it was all in the past.

The post was in response to an earlier tweet where Brugler reported Sweat had been arrested by Austin Police as he was charged with a DWI.
Brugler noted that the early Sunday arrest was less than 18 days from the 2024 NFL Draft, worsening the draft value Sweat had with potential NFL suitors.
Sweat’s admission was an attempt to show he had learned from his mistakes, Brugler reported.
The tackle had told teams that his partying lifestyle was in the past, a point Sweat made to address the situation confronting him.
Brugler reported that Sweat was viewed as a Day 2 draft pick.
At Texas, Sweat played four years and recorded five sacks for the Longhorns over his five-year career.
Sweat’s value was being a terror on the defensive interior line, starting pushes to make opposing quarterbacks’ lives uncomfortable.
Sweat received the Outland Trophy, an honor given to the nation’s top interior defensive lineman, while being named to the Associated Press’s All-American team in 2023.
