Paddy Pimblett has set a timeline for his next UFC fight with two different options in mind.
‘The Baddy’ pockets a bonus of $200,000 in his final octagon appearance following a first-round submission victory over King Green at UFC 304 in July.
People who live in Liverpudlian revealed at the time that he would spend the money on his two daughters, who were born in April this year.
UFC President White Fund feeling so frustrated with yet another boring fight on the Manchester card that he decided to double Pimblett’s bonus.
White had agreed to up every bonus from the $50,000 awarded for that night’s appearance and fight, which he later admitted would happen again.
The win also moved Pimblett into the UFC’s top 15 lightweight rankings, where he currently sits at No. 14, behind fighters such as Islam MakhachevIndonesian: Dustin Poirier And Charles Oliveira.
Speaking to Cage WarriorIrish owned company MMA London-based promotion Pimblett discusses when we can expect him back in the octagon.
“I think the only card I could possibly fight with [this year] December again in Vegas,” he said. “But, nothing has been said at this point.”
One third of Pimblett UFC The fight took place in December and the 29-year-old has never lost in Dana White’s promotion.
He was only able to fight once in 2023, defeating Tony Ferguson at UFC 296, after suffering ankle ligament damage in a win over Jared Gordon a year earlier.
“I know [Renato] Moicano is fighting [this] this week, but I can’t see it coming back soon enough in December, so it could be next year, early next year,” Pimblett added.
Moicano, who won at UFC 300 in April, is one opponent Pimblett has repeatedly stated he wants to fight, regardless of the outcome this weekend.
The Brazilian fighter has won five of his last six fights and will face France’s Benoit Saint Denis at the Accor Arena for UFC Fight Night 243 in Paris on Saturday night.
Dan Hooker is another name who has been linked with Pimblett’s next opponent.
‘The Hangman’ earned his own special win at UFC 305 in August when he defeated Mateusz Gamrot by split decision on the undercard. Dricus Du Plessis oppose IsraelAdesanya.
Moicano claims that Pimblett would be a tougher opponent than Hooker in the build-up to his Paris fight, but it is unclear how likely the 35-year-old would be to face either man if he makes it through Saint Denis.
A higher ranked opponent would certainly make for a more interesting fight for Moicano.
Pimblett, who is a former Cage Warriors champion, spoke to the promotion after supporting teammate Luke Riley.
Liverpool’s Riley knocked out Alexandre Junior in the opening round of a featherweight bout to take his professional record to 10-0.
Riley trains with Pimblett and fellow MMA fighters Molly McCann in Next Generation MMA in Liverpool.
Following his fight, Riley pleaded with Dana White and other matchmakers to bring him to the UFC after a scheduled fight on White’s Contender Series was canceled due to visa issues.
