The back-to-back Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs managed to pull off the unthinkable despite their receivers leading the NFL in drops in 2023.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is apparently already working on solutions.
Tyler Dragon of USA Today reported that Mahomes has already reached out to Texas WR prospect Xavier Worthy and that Worthy said “in a perfect world” he would want to get drafted by the Chiefs.

Mahomes reportedly reached out after Worthy broke the NFL Combine record with a 4.21 40-yard dash.
According to Dragon, worthy also added, “They had Tyreek Hill. The way they used him, I feel like that would be a perfect fit for me.”
It’s nothing short of remarkable that the Chiefs have now managed to win consecutive Super Bowls after trading Hill to the Dolphins, but it’s clear how much the offense misses his explosiveness.
They have tried to replicate it by trading for Kadarius Toney and drafting Skyy Moore, but nobody can replace what Hill brought to the offense.
After the shortcomings of the wide receiver room this past season, the Chiefs are definitely in the market for upgrades this offseason both in the draft and free agency.
Worthy put up 1,014 yards last season for the Longhorns and scored 26 touchdowns in his three years with Texas, so even though he is just 172 pounds he is more than just a speedster.
Travis Kelce finally started to show signs of aging this past season and Rashee Rice blossomed as a rookie receiver.
Outside of those two, this team needs major reinforcements.
You never know who Mahomes might decide to call tomorrow.
