The New England Patriots are heading into a new era for Robert Kraft and company, with the team recently parting ways with legendary head coach Bill Belichick after 24 seasons and being on the verge of potentially drafting a new franchise quarterback after trading Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

With the Belichick era in New England officially over, the team will head in another direction with a different philosophy and ways of doing business, which could be a massive step in the right direction for the team after a few disappointing seasons in the post-Tom Brady era.

As of right now, the Patriots own the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, which many expect them to use on Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels, depending on which one of these young quarterbacks is available once the team is on the clock.

With the team bringing in a new quarterback, it seems the Patriots might have been trying to upgrade the receiving corps, with a rumor floating around that New England was trying to acquire star wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles, via Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94 WIP.

If the Patriots are able to get their hands on Brown, it would be a game-changer for the team, especially with a talented quarterback coming into the fold with Daniels or Maye.

However, the Eagles will need a massive trade haul back to make this happen, which the Patriots might not be willing to do unless they’re convinced Brown is the player they need to get back to being a competitive team in the AFC.
