On Sunday, the Cleveland Cavaliers were looking to avenge Saturday’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers with a bounce-back win against the Los Angeles Clippers at Crypto.com Arena.
Despite getting out to an enormous 26-point lead against the Clippers, the Cavaliers couldn’t hold on during Sunday’s matchup against Paul George and company, who poured it on in the second half after getting destroyed by Cleveland in the first half due to two consecutive 40-point quarters from J.B. Bickerstaff’s squad.
Although the game seemed to be in hand at halftime with the Cavaliers looking like they’d snap their losing streak, even without superstar guard Donovan Mitchell on the floor, George and his teammates were resilient and didn’t give up hope of pulling off the comeback.
After the Clippers pulled off the unlikely comeback on their home floor on Sunday, Russell Westbrook couldn’t contain his emotions as he trolled the Cavaliers bench for dancing with a big lead earlier in the game, via Joey Linn of Sports Illustrated.

George led all scorers in this game with a game-high 39 points to go along with 11 rebounds and seven assists, while Westbrook chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, and six assists off the bench.
With the win, the Clippers secured their 50th victory of the season, while the Cavaliers dropped to 46-33 on the season and continue to struggle with the start of the NBA playoffs right around the corner on April 20.
The Cavaliers were in third place in the Eastern Conference standings before this game but are now sitting in fifth place.
