D’Angelo Russell of the Los Angeles Lakers had a statement game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.

His fingerprints were all over the much-needed win for LA, and he put up 44 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists, while also going 9-of-12 from beyond the three-point line.

It was just the latest in a string of great games from Russell.

On Twitter, Daniel Starkand pointed out that during Russell’s last 26 games, he has averaged 22.7 points and shot 45.7% from beyond the three-point arc on 8.6 attempts per game.

It has been quite the season for Russell, filled with plenty of good and bad and an immense amount of speculation.

When 2023-24 kicked off, there were plenty of people who didn’t think Russell would be in Los Angeles when the season came to a close.

Because of a rough postseason and a roster that needed improvement, it was assumed that Russell would be sent to another team before the NBA trade deadline.

As that deadline neared, Russell started to play better and better.

By the time the deadline arrived, Russell was putting up double-digits every single night and was easily one of the most important parts of the Lakers’ lineup.

Of course, he wasn’t traded at the deadline but Russell hasn’t slowed down or slipped back into bad habits.

He has made it clear that this isn’t just some brief period of greatness or a fluke.

If the Lakers are going to reach the playoffs, they will need Russell to keep putting up strong numbers during every game.

In fact, they will need other players on the roster to take a lesson from Russell and deliver something the team has been missing all year: consistency.
